Haaken Gulleson – The master from Fläcka

The exhibition displays Hälsingland's rich heritage of medieval ecclesiastical sculpture. Haaken Gulleson was active in the early 16^th century. He titled himself as a painter and his works are found in several regions in southern Norrland, primarily in Hälsingland, but also in Norway.

His works are among the finest and most personal from the medieval period. The exhibition provides a lively depiction of medieval faith and its ecclesiastical imagery. It showcases church sculpture from four centuries of the Middle Ages. Most works are from the early 16^th century and from Haaken Gulleson's workshop. The oldest item is a crucifix from the 13^th century. All items come from Hälsingland's churches and belong to the collections of Hälsingland Museum.
